Remember Bikini Kill?

Lately, amidst the constant onslaught of Gaga and Keisha and their trashy, dance-floor-obsessed ilk, I've been longing for some old school Courtney Love and her F***you, girls-write-and-rock comrades. (Obviously, before she traded her soul for plastic surgery and lost parental rights). Back then, a girl or woman didn't need D&G sunglasses and a poker face; brains and middle fingers worked just fine.
There was a time when women really did rock.

Today I stumbled across a lovely reminder of things past:

"Kathleen Hanna, she of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and awesome feminist fame, has donated her zines, writing, and letters to the NYU library. The Kathleen Hanna Papers will become part of a newly announced Riot Grrrrl Collection." (Quote Jezebel)
